Do you remember where you were on 9-11-2001?
On 9-11-2001, I got up that morning and drove 42 miles to my Insurance Agency in Knoxville, Tn. I remember that it was a sunny day and just like any other day in September, you could tell that fall was right around the corner. As I parked my car and walked into my office complex, I could tell by the look on the receptionist face, something wasn’t quite right. I noticed that she had placed a small TV on her desk and was watching a news story. As I watched the replay of the first plane that flew into one of the towers, suddenly the news story was interrupted with another plane that was flying into the other tower. Like a lot of people, I thought the first plane was a horrible accident. After the second plane flew into the next tower, I knew in my heart that this was no accident. It was horrifying to watch, as our country had been attacked. Over the next 45 minutes or so, no one in our office complex knew what to say or what to expect next.
These are the emotions that I felt that day.
Our lives had been forever changed. I will always remember those who needlessly died and those who risked their lives to save others. No matter what is going on in the country today, I will never forget that day. God bless the United States of America.
